An early Tuesday morning fire destroyed two large structures housing hens at the Fassio Egg Farm in Tooele County, killing an estimated 200,000 chickens.
All employees have been accounted for and no human injuries were reported.
The fire is believed to have started from an electrical issue, North Tooele Fire District officials said.
Multiple fire crews fought the blaze. Officials say the fire was difficult to manage because of quantities of flammable manure in the buildings.
The blaze was mostly extinguished by early Tuesday afternoon, although mop-up efforts were expected to continue into the evening hours.
The eggs in burned hen houses were to be shipped to California.
