About 100 customers in Provo were without power on Friday evening, after a semi truck knocked down four power poles near 3700 North and 100 East, according to city officials.
Shortly after 4 p.m., city officials estimated repairs would take a minimum of eight hours.
In addition to the poles, which must be replaced, there was damage to underground wiring and transformers, officials said.
Meanwhile, in Salt Lake County, high winds downed a power line and forced the closure of 7200 South near 165 West in Midvale for several hours, said UFA Paramedic/Firefighter Taylor Sandstrom.
The incident occurred at about 12:20 p.m., in conjunction with the arrival of a cold front.
At mid-afternoon, Rocky Mountain Power reported 67 outages in Utah affecting more than 800 customers. By 4 p.m., the number dropped to just over 300 customers.
