A 5-year-old who was reported missing after he wandered away from his parent at 900 South and 900 East was found in a house a half-block away Wednesday evening.
The boy reportedly walked out the back door of gift shop Cahoots and walked south on 900 East, where he entered a stranger’s empty house, according to Salt Lake City police Sgt. Brandon Shearer.
When the family came home just before 8:45 p.m., they heard a noise and called their neighbors over. The neighbors recognized the boy from news reports and called the Salt Lake City police, Shearer said.
